We stayed for 4 days in a downstairs room if you like quirky and historic you'll love this place room clean and attended to everyday breakfast food as a continental basic but plentiful for what works out at under £40 per night it can't be faulted
The only good thing is the hotel location. Right in the center of town.,
Room was not clean, towels were with red and brown stains, the drain of the shower was poor si you end your shower standing in a pool of soapy water that took hours to drain, leaving the shower quite unclean. Room maids did not clean it during our stay of 3 nights.
Ni electrical socket near the bed.
You need to go down 6 floors to boil water for a drink in your room at the 6th floor.
Nothing looks like what the hotel advertised.
Staff are unkind, quite rude except for the young day recrptionist
I asked for a double room and they reserve me a room with 2 single beds. Then they change me with a room with 2 single beds attached. 2 small towels for 2 people. Asked more towels for 3 times! The bath is dirty and the shower cabin broken! Terrible!
I stayed 8 nights and in the beginning, they gave me a horrible room, very small, too dark. I asked the receptionist if I can move to the room looking outside. He told me that those rooms are also dark, which is a ridiculous excuse! I told him I need a bigger room, as my friend will arrive. He said the room he has was no bigger than mine. I asked again to move to a room looking outside, he said those rooms are for more people. I have read the comments the night before; I knew that it was not true. I told him that I do not believe him. He started to yell at me saying that I accuse him of lying, he called me names and, told me that I am the worst. I have stayed many hotels; hostels around the world, no receptionist behaved me like that! I went back to my room and a different man knocked my door and he was so polite. They understood their mistake. He showed me two rooms and they were both bigger and nicer than the one I stayed and it was looking outside. It turned out that he was ACTUALLY LYING. There were better rooms available!
If they have given me that room in the beginning I would give them five stars. The breakfast is not good, everything is low quality, and even the coffee is from the machine tastes horrible. However, for this price no other hotel offers breakfast, so it is a plus. You can walk everywhere, a lot of restaurants, bars around, close to metro. They cleaned the room every day. Value is very good for the price, but you need to negotiate the room.
